Poignant Lessons of Life from 5-316

We spent the end of our first reading unit finding the authors' messages in our books--the lessons taught through story elements. Extending this search to our own experiences in life, we created our own lessons, supported with real moments of evidence. Take a look at our wise words.

Rag-Cycle in ACTION!
Thank you for helping us create less waste!

Highlight on Classroom Jobs:
Our amazing Kitchen Managers, Ursula and Lane, help make our classroom the well-oiled machine it is! Their hard work and dedication (which has them missing a bit of Choice Time) gets this month's spotlight. Thank you, Ursula and Lane!

Thank you so much for sending your child in with a wig or kooky hair!

5-316 Needs Some Video Games Testers!
We are looking forward to our upcoming Social Studies unit. It is an exciting unit on the tremendous growth of the United States after the Revolutionary War. We are going to incorporate games-based learning into the unit and we're looking for several students who would like to serve as game testers before we begin. This game "research" will take place once a week during recess and lunch. If you are pretty awesome at video games and are interested in being a tester, please leave us a note in the HW bin, detailing your video game skills and talents. Good luck!

Regular-sized fine print: Of course, this opportunity is open to students who are up-to-date and consistent in classwork and homework... and who demonstrate an effort in making good choices in classroom behavior.
